I am Licensed by
the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 45594), providing counseling, consultation and training to individuals, couples, groups and families, specializing in trauma, grief
and loss, multicultural and blended families, critical incident stress debriefing and crisis management. I maintain a private practice in Oakland,California.
I have 13 years experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Psychology. I am graduate of San Francisco State University and Golden Gate University, specializing in Marriage Family and Child Counseling. Upon graduating I served as Child Welfare Worker and then as a supervisor for Alameda County Social Services for 16 years. During my tenure I developed a passion for working with and training foster and adoptive families. Currently I develop curriculum for post trainings for resource families, serve as Employee Assistance Program Provider and private practice practitioner, working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are mood related disorders, adoption and childhood abuse and neglect.
In addition to being a prominent trauma informed and relationship therapist, I have presented at conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of Work Life Balance, Depression and Acculturation, and Coping with Trauma and Loss.
I am an interactive therapist, with a holistic approach. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
